Government Aims to Push Entrepreneurship in MSME Sector
The Union Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Sector (MSME) Ministry will soon launch Enterprise Development Centres (EDCs) for developing a cadre of indigenous entrepreneurs in the MSMEs.
Enterprise Development Centres
- They will be aimed at developing a cadre of indigenous entrepreneurs in the MSMEs. The EDCs will be similar to incubators for start-ups.
- Planned for every district, the government is targeting the launch of 20 EDCs out of a planned 500 by the end of 2019-20.
- The centres will be broad-based and shall be run by special purpose vehicles in partnership with the private sector, business managementorganizations and local industry associations.
