India’s Heaviest Communication Satellite GSAT-11 Launched
Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) heaviest and most-advanced high throughput communication satellite GSAT-11 was successfully launched from the Spaceport in French Guiana during the early hours on Dec 5.
All about the GSAT-11 launch
- The GSAT-11 was launched onboard Ariane-5 launch vehicle
- The satellite will be initially placed in the Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit
- It will be raised to Geostationary Orbit subsequently by firing the Liquid Apogee Motor onboard the satellite
- GSAT-11 will be located 74 east and is the fore-runner in a series of advanced communications satellite
- It has multi-spot beam antenna coverage over Indian mainland and Islands
