1. Recently, Andhra Pradesh demand for Special Category Status (SCS) was refused by Centre. The Constitution does not include any provision for categorization,
but some regions in the country are historically
disadvantaged in comparison with others. And these historically disadvantaged states are recognized as SCS. The concept of a Special Category State was first introduced in:
