43 New Chinese Apps Banned in India
On 24th November 2020,the government of India has blocked 43 new Chinese mobile apps in the country, including shopping website Ali Express, over privacy concerns. The order was issued based on comprehensive reports received from Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center, Ministry of Home Affairs.
Highlights of the Order
- The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has banned these mobile apps under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act.
- Under section 69A of the Information Technology Act, the government reserves the right to block access to mobile apps deemed threat to national security.
- Both Google and Apple will have to comply ....
