Why in News?
- Australian national and a right-wing extremist, Brenton Tarrant, armed with semi-automatic weapons opened fire on two mosques in New Zealand’s Christchurch city. Brenton Tarrant travelled from Australia to New Zealand to carry out the attack. The weapons used in the attack and the improvised explosive devices implanted across the city point at the involvement of an organized terror cell.
