The increasing frequency of natural & human activity induced disasters and climate related extreme events like cloud bursts, heavy precipitation and associated floods and large scale destruction resulting into hazards in recent time has led to huge damage in life and property. Climate sensitive nation like India, with large number of vulnerable population, unplanned and haphazard physical development and poor institutional capacity and governance, are worst affected by the disaster related impacts.
