India-UK Free Trade Agreement
India and the UK have affirmed their commitment to negotiate a free trade agreement (FTA) with a view to further strengthen economic ties between thetwo nations.
- The issue was discussed in the 14thJoint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) meeting between the two countries onJuly 21, 2020.The meeting was held by India and UK to revive and revitalise the long-standing trade and economic linkages between them.
- The next meeting is scheduled to be held around September, 2020 in New Delhi to carry forward the dialogue.
