International Tiger Day
On 29th July, 2021, International Tiger Day was celebrated worldwide. The day is celebrated every year as a way to raise awareness about the magnificent endangered big cat. The theme for International Tiger Day 2021 is “Their survival is in our hands.”
Background
- The day marks the anniversary of the agreement of Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit held in Russia in 2010.
- In the summit, the 13 tiger range countries came together to create Tx2 – the global goal to double the number of wild tigers by the year 2022.
