Some of the Important Tribal Movements
a. Phadia Revolt (1770s)
- This revolt in the decade of 1770s was led by the tribals in the hilly region of Rajmahal jungles in the present-day Jharkhand against the land-revenue system of the British.
- Finally, the British signed a compromise to declare this region as Damin-i-koh.
b. Khond Revolt (1846 and 1855)
- This took place in Odisha in 1846 and 1855 against the land-revenue policies of the British, oppression by the landlords and moneylenders and the various restrictions imposed by the government.
