Answer: Some of the important issues before the Indian Police are as follows:
- According to the State of Policing in India Report 2019, the police in India work at 77% of their sanctioned strength and work for an average of 14 hours a day.
- The representation of women in the police force is low, it is only 10.3% of the total strength of police force.
- There is lack of basic facilities at the police stations.
- Indian police forces have not kept pace with the changes in technologies like forensics, fingerprinting, facial technologies, etc.
- Only about 3% of the state government's budget is spent ....
