  • Potato Patch is a vast, meadow-like coral colony formed by the species Pavona clavus (potato coral).
  • It is located in the south-eastern waters of Kadmat Island in the Lakshadweep archipelago.
  • The coral colony developed over several centuries through the gradual accumulation of calcium carbonate deposited by coral polyps and is estimated to be between 700 and 1,800 years old.
