B.R. Ambedkar was a radical social reformer, jurist, and principal architect of the Indian Constitution, whose philosophy was dedicated to the structural annihilation of the caste system and the establishment of an egalitarian society. He viewed social reform, change and development as achievable primarily through legal safeguards, political power and rigorous constitutional democracy.
