National Plan for Conservation of Aquatic Eco-systems (NPCA)
- NPCA is a centrally sponsored scheme of MoEFCC formulated in 2015, for conservation of lakes and wetlands. It was formed by merging the National Lake Conservation Plan (NLCP) and National Wetlands Conservation Programme (NWCP).
Ramsar Convention on Wetlands of International Importance
- An intergovernmental treaty that provides the framework for the conservation and wise use of wetlands and their resources declared Wetlands of International Importance.
- Adopted in the Iranian city of Ramsar in 1971 and came into force in 1975.
- 27 Ramsar Sites in India.
