Pendency of Cases in Juvenile Justice Boards (JJBs)

  • As of 31 October 2023, India’s 362 Juvenile Justice Boards (JJBs) were handling a total of 100,904 pending cases, with over 55% still unresolved.
  • The significant backlog in cases hampers the swift and effective functioning of the juvenile justice system.
