Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U)
In August 2026, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) achieved another significant milestone with the sanction of over 1.25 crore houses under PMAY-U and PMAY-U 2.0, of which more than 1 crore houses have been completed and delivered to beneficiaries across the country.
- PMAY-U was launched on 25 June 2015 under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) to provide pucca houses with basic civic amenities to eligible urban beneficiaries across India.
- It aimed at providing dignified housing for urban migrants and the economically disadvantaged.
