5 Years of e-Shram Portal
On 26th August 2026, the e-Shram Portal completed five years of operation, marking a major milestone in building India’s social security architecture for the informal economy.
The e-Shram Portal
- It is India’s first comprehensive, Aadhaar-authenticated National Database of Unorganised Workers (NDUW).
- It assigns every registered worker a portable 12-digit Universal Account Number (UAN) and serves as a unified digital platform connecting the informal workforce to social security benefits, job portals, skilling opportunities, and pension plans.
Key Achievements
- Coverage: With 31.89 crore registrations, e-Shram has created one of India’s largest databases of unorganised workers, with women comprising 54.28% of registrations. ....
