Lower Female Labour-force Participation to Affect Growth Potential
Stressing on the need to increase women participation in labour force, the Economic Survey 2017-18 said that lower women engagement adversely affects the growth potential of the economy.
- Among developing countries, there exists gender gaps in labour force participation rates. In the case of India, the gender gap in labour force participation rate is more than 50 percentage points.
