Employment Generation Through Tourist Destinations
- The Ministry of Tourism, through its scheme of “Capacity Building for Service Providers (CBSP)”, conducts job-oriented short-term skill programmes through various institutes across the country.
- The Ministry of Tourism has taken several initiatives for the development of tourist destinations and domestic tourism in the country, including:
- Under the schemes of ‘Swadesh Darshan’, ‘National Mission on Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD)’, and ‘Assistance to Central Agencies for Tourism Infrastructure Development’.
- Revamped the Swadesh Darshan Scheme as Swadesh Darshan 2.0 (SD2.0), with the objective to develop sustainable tourism destinations. It has identified 58 destinations and sanctioned 34 projects in the country.
