Curiosity Rover Detects Carbon Signatures on Mars
On 18th January, 2022, after analyzing powdered rock samples collected from the surface of Mars by NASA’s Curiosity rover, scientists announced that several of the samples are rich in a type of carbon that on Earth is associated with biological processes.
- NASA's Curiosity rover landed on Mars in 2012 and since then has roamed Gale Crater taking samples and sending the results back home for researchers to interpret.
