Union Cabinet Approves “PRITHvi VIgyan” Scheme for Earth System Research
On 5th January, 2024, the Union Cabinet granted approval for the “PRITHvi VIgyan (PRITHVI)” scheme, allocating Rs 4,797 crore for implementation during the period 2021-26, aiming to advance research in Earth system science.

- Comprehensive Earth System Scheme: The PRITHVI VIgyan scheme, with a budget of Rs 4,797 crore, seeks to elevate research, modelling, and service delivery in crucial areas such as weather, climate, oceans, and polar regions.
