Urban Wastewater Management: A Crisis and a Call for Reform
On 1st January 2026, a report by Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Medical College exposed a grave public health concern in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, revealing that 26 water samples from the city’s supply were contaminated with sewage, following an incident in which at least 8 people died and over 3000 were hospitalised after consuming polluted water.
