Answer
The National Register of Citizens (NRC) is a document containing the name of all Indian citizens of Assam. It was updated recently to identify Indian citizens of Assam and to identify the illegal migrants residing in Assam. Based on this a proposal was also mooted to create a national wide NRC recently.
