Yaya Tso
Ladakh's Yaya Tso Lake is referred to as the Bird's Paradise. The lake is 4,820 kilometres above sea level. The lake is a well-known location for black-necked crane breeding.
- The Biodiversity Management Committee, the Panchayat of Chumathang Village, and The Himalaya Project has designated it as a "Biodiversity Heritage Site." Making it Ladakh's first location designated as a Biosphere Heritage Site.
- SECURE HIMALAYA Project: The project mainly aims to conserve Snow leopards in the region. Also, it addresses threatened livelihood, habitat degradation, and illegal wildlife trade. Funds for the project come from Global Environment ....
