Soil degradation disproportionately impacts the Global South, where agriculture underpins food security and rural livelihoods. Rapid erosion, salinity and declining soil fertility threaten productivity in regions already vulnerable to climate variability. Sustainable soil management offers a pathway to resilience through capacity development, soil mapping and adoption of climate-smart practices.
