BWF Badminton World Championships

  • On 23rd August 2026, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand won bronze at the BWF Badminton World Championships in New Delhi.
  • They became only the second Indian women’s doubles pair to win a World Championship medal.
  • They followed Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa, who won India’s first women’s doubles World Championship medal.
  • The duo lost to defending champions Liu Sheng Shu and Tan Ning of China in the semi-final.
