Cameroon Wins Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2026
- On 16th August 2026, Cameroon won its first Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title by defeating Malawi 3–0.
- Cameroon had previously lost three finals before securing its maiden continental title.
- Malawi reached the final for the first time in its history after a surprise run in the tournament.
- Cameroon, Malawi, Morocco and Algeria qualified for the 2027 Women’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
- Algeria finished third after defeating Morocco on penalties in the bronze-medal match.
- Cameroon became the fourth different Women’s Africa Cup of Nations winner since the tournament began in 1998.
