National Register of Citizens
- Recently Assam completed the updation of National Register of Citizens (NRC) as directed by Supreme Court in 2014.
- NRC is a list of all bona fide Indian citizens of Assam, the only state with such a document.
- NRC was first prepared after the Census of 1951 to deal with the issue of illegal immigration issue just after independence.
