Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery Course

The first batch of Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery Course was launched by the Government in Jammu and Kashmir's first-ever Government Unani Medical College and Hospital. Funds have been provided by Ministry of AYUSH for the establishment of the Unani Medical College and Hospital in Kashmir.

• It seeks to promote the indigenous systems of medicine in the Jammu and Kashmir.Unani System of Medicine is being promoted in the Kashmir Division and Ayurveda is being promoted in the Jammu Division.

Benefits of promoting UNANI Medicine

• It would improve access to primary and preventive healthcare for the people.
• Access to basic healthcare services will prevent lifestyle-related disorders.
• It will also improve the Doctor to Population ratio as well as Nurse to population ratio.
• It may reduce the rural-urban divide in access to healthcare services.
