Global Innovation Index 2021

Global Innovation Index is an annual ranking of countries by their capacity for, and success in, innovation.

  • The Global Innovation Index (GII) is published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), a specialized agency of the United Nations.
  • The GII aims to provide an innovation ranking and rich analysis referencing around 130 economies.
  • The Index comprises around 80 indicators, including measures on the political environment, education, infrastructure and knowledge creation of each economy.
  • India is ranked at 46th position on the Global Innovation Index 2021.
