About Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh
He was born into a royal family in the Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh in 1886. He was an alumnus of the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental Collegiate School later called Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). He is popularly known as "Aryan Peshwa".

He took part in Gandhi’s campaign in South Africa, in 1913.
He set up the first Provisional Government of India from Afghanistan in 1915, declaring himself as the President.
In 1909, he gave his own residence in Mathura to convert it into a technical school named Prem Mahavidyalaya. It is said to have been the country’s first polytechnic.
