- Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid visit to Maldives and Sri Lanka on 8th and 9th June 2019 respectively which was his first international visit during his second stint as the PM. The visit to Maldives and Sri Lanka underlines the new government’s priority to giving primacy to India’s neighbourhood, a policy that the Modi government followed in its first term as well.
