Defence Budget & Capital Expenditure
- Defence Budget Growth: Increased from Rs. 2.53 lakh crore (2013–14) to Rs. 7.85 lakh crore (2026–27).
- Capital Expenditure: Rose from Rs. 94,588 crore (2014–15) to Rs. 2.19 lakh crore (2026–27).
Indigenisation & Self-Reliance
- Domestic Production: Nearly 65% of India's defence equipment is now produced domestically, reversing the earlier dependence of 65–70% imports.
- Items Indigenised: More than 15,700 defence items indigenised, including 3,204 from Positive Indigenisation Lists.
Research & Innovation
- Defence R&D Spending: Increased from Rs. 13,716 crore (2014–15) to Rs. 29,100 crore (2026–27)—an increase of over 112%.
- Private Sector Participation: 25% of the defence R&D budget opened ....
