​Masali: India’s First Border Solar Village

  • Masali village in Banaskantha district of Gujarat has become the country’s first “solar village” along the border.
  • Located just 40 km from the Pakistan border, this small village with a population of 800 has embraced solar energy, transforming its energy landscape and becoming self-dependent in electricity generation.
  • The village’s 199 households now have solar rooftop panels installed, collectively generating 225.5 kW of electricity.
