InvITs

On 5th December 2025, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) granted in-principle approval of registration to ‘Raajmarg Infra Investment Trust’ (RIIT) as an Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT) under the SEBI (Infrastructure Investment Trusts) Regulations, 2014.

  • InvITs are similar to mutual funds.
  • InvITs raise funds from a large number of investors and directly invest in infrastructure projects or through a special purpose vehicle.
  • These are registered as trusts with SEBI and there are four parties, viz. trustee, sponsors, investment manager and project manager.
  • The minimum application size for InvIT units is Rs. 10 lakh.
