On 2nd April 2026, Kandla Port successfully conducted a trial shore-to-ship methanol bunkering capabilities, positioning itself as a key player in India’s energy transition efforts and global green shipping corridors.
- Kandla Port (Kutch district, Gujarat) long handled grey methanol as cargo and already possesses compatible infrastructure, including tank storage, pipelines and jetties.

- It is the process of supplying methanol as a fuel to a ship for its own use, rather than carrying it as cargo.
