Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC)

In April 2026, the Ministry of Railways announced the completion of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC).

  • The Western DFC stretches an impressive 1,506 kilometres from Jawaharlal Nehru Port Terminal (JNPT) near Mumbai to Dadri in Uttar Pradesh, traversing the industrial heartland of India.
  • It is implemented by the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL).
  • The completion of the WDFC is projected to transform supply chain dynamics for key industries such as automotive, FMCG, steel, cement, and agriculture.
