- Launched on 16 January 2016 by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Startup India has played a pivotal role in transforming India into a leading startup hub.

- India’s startup ecosystem has witnessed remarkable growth, with the number of privately held companies valued over 1 billion dollars rising from just four in 2014 to more than 120 in 2025.
