Ancient Tradition

  • The Bagad Yatra has been celebrated for over 800 years in Bavdhan, located in Wai Taluka, Satara district.

Reason for Celebration

  • Celebrated annually on Rang Panchami in the Hindu month of Falgun (Krishna Paksha Panchami, the fifth day of the waning moon).
  • Symbolises the fulfilment of vows (navas) made to Lord Bhairavnath.
