Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyaan
On 23rd July, 2024, Union Finance Minister unveiled the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan to enhance basic facilities for Scheduled Tribe families and outlined budget allocations for tribal and social justice initiatives in the 2024-25 Budget.
About the Scheme
- Objective: To achieve full saturation of basic facilities for five crore Scheduled Tribe families across 63,000 villages in tribal-majority areas and aspirational districts.
- Design: Modelled after PM-JANMAN, focusing on a broader Scheduled Tribe population beyond Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs).
- Details Pending: Specific funding details and implementation mechanisms have not been disclosed yet.
