Operation Jal Rahat
- In July 2026, the Indian Army launched Operation Jal Rahat to assist the Assam Government in rescue and relief operations as severe floods affected several districts in eastern Assam.
- The operation is being carried out in coordination with the civil administration, Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), and other disaster response agencies.
- Army and Assam Rifles teams have been deployed in the worst-affected districts of Charaideo, Sivasagar, and Jorhat.
