The National Emergency (Art. 352)
On the recommendation of the Union Cabinet, President declares National Emergency in case of external aggression, war and armed rebellion which is also laid before both the Houses of Parliament. Such a proclamation enables the Centre to exercise the executive and legislative powers of the state. Though the state legislature and government are not suspended, the governance of the state comes under the direct control of the centre.
