Devasthal Optical Telescope (DOT) is a 3.6-m optical telescope at Devasthalin Nainital, Uttarakhand.

  • It is largest telescope in India for study of celestial objects at optical wavelengths.
  • It was established by Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences, an autonomous research institute under the Department of Science and Technology.
  • The back-end instruments of telescope provide spectral and imaging capabilities at visible and near-infrared bands.
