The government introduced a new registration mark for new vehicles i.e. “Bharat series (BH-series)” in August, 2021.
Vehicles bearing the BH registration mark will not require to be re-registered in a new state once it relocates.
The new system will be in place from September 15, 2021.
About BH-series
It is specifically meant for those vehicle owners who shift from one state to another on a regular basis due to their transferable nature of job. The BH signifies Bharat and will replace the state letters in the number plate denoting the state of vehicle registration, like UP or DL.
Format of BH-series Registration Mark
The new number series plate will be in the format-YY BH #### XX
YY – Year of first registration
BH- Code for Bharat Series
####- 0000 to 9999 (randomized)
XX- Alphabets (AA to ZZ)
Benefits
The new BH Series would help remove the need to re-register a vehicle while a sale takes place in another state. This will ease easy ownership transfer of used cars as well.
