India Innovation Index

  • The index has been jointly developed by NITI Aayog, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion - DIPP and Confederation of Indian Industry - CII.
  • The index has been structured based on the practices followed in Global Innovation Index (GII) indicators.
  • India Innovation Index is India’s first online innovation index portal that helps capture data on innovation from all Indian states on real time
  • The index adds India-centric parameters which reflect the Indian innovation ecosystem.

The pillars of index include:

    • Capacity of human capital and research
    • Strength of institutions
    • Supporting infrastructure
    • Level of business sophistication
  • The Index is a one-stop data warehouse that tracks progress of each indicator at National level and State level on real-time basis.
