Saksham Scholarship Scheme

It was launched in 2014 with the objective to encourage and support differently abled students to pursue technical education. 1000 scholarships (500 degrees and 500 diplomas) would be given in a year.

  • The candidates are selected on merit at the qualifying examination to pursue technical education from amongst Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).

Amount of scholarship:

    • Tuition fee of Rs. 30,000/ - or at actual, whichever is less and Rs.2000/ - per month for 10 months as incidental charges each year.
    • In case of tuition fee waiver/reimbursement, students are eligible to get an amount of Rs. 30,000/- for the purchase of Books/Equipment/Softwares/ Laptop/Desktop/Vehicle/Fee paid towards competitive examination applications forms/exam/specific equipments/ softwares for visually impaired/ speech and hearing disabled.
  • Such schemes must be promoted as it will increase the share of differently abled students in technical education. It will help them secure a better pay as technical education is more rewarding.
