It was launched in 2016 with the objective to boost community participation in government schools.
Under the programme, volunteers, including Indian diaspora, retired persons like teachers, government officials, defence personnel, professionals, and women who are home makers, offer their services for co-scholastic activities (like reading, creative writing, public speaking etc.) for children from class I to VIII.
