Evolution of the Milky Way: New Insights
A recent study led by researchers at Ohio State University has provided the latest evidence into the formation of the Milky Way galaxy, including the merger with a key satellite galaxy.

- The researchers used different approaches and data sources for their study, including a spectroscopic survey called APOGEE and the relatively new field of Asteroseismology.
- The findings of the study identify the most precise ages currently possible for a sample of about a hundred red giant stars in the galaxy.
