UNSC Designated Outfits Banned by Pakistan

  • On 4 March, 2019, Pakistan passed a Statutory Regulatory Order (SRO) which banned Lashkar-e Taiba’s (LeT) offshoots Jamat-ud Dawa (JuD) and Falah-i-Insaniyat Foundation (FIF) in Pakistan.
  • Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and other countries forced Pakistan to act on terror groups after the Pulwama attack.
  • LeT and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) are already banned in Pakistan.

Effect of the Ban

  • The ban would freeze all properties owned or controlled by the JuD and FIF and any income from their assets including rent would be seized by Pakistani authorities.
