Bihar to Conserve Endangered Blackbucks
- Nearly a decade after a blackbuck safari project planned but not materialized, the State Forest Department of Bihar is planning to launch a conservation drive for endangered blackbucks in Buxar district.
- It has identified the land for the proposed blackbuck rescue centre in Nawanagar block in Buxar district.
- Blackbuck is locally known as Kala Hiran or Krishna Mrig, and found near forest and riverine belt of Buxar as well as the neighbouringBhojpur and Kaimur districts.
