Nord Stream 2 Pipeline
Recently, the US signalled its approval for the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline Project between Russia and Germany. Earlier, it had imposed sanctions to prevent the completion of the gas pipeline.
The Nord Stream 2 Pipeline
- It is a 1,200-km pipeline that will run from Ust-Luga in Russia to Greifswald in Germany through the Baltic Sea. It will carry 55 billion cubic metres of natural gas per year.
- It was decided in 2015 by Russian energy major Gazprom and five other European firms to build this pipeline.
